Development Cooperation
We carry out development cooperation in Asia, Eastern Africa, and Eastern Europe. Our work impacts the lives of hundreds of thousands of people each year in fragile and low-income countries.
Everyone has the right to a good life. We want to help the most vulnerable and ensure that everyone has access to education, livelihood opportunities, and a healthy life.
Fida has worked in development work for 50 years. In 1974, we first received support from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. As a Finnish development organisation, our work is not only supported by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland but also by many sponsors and donors.
Christian Development Work
As a faith-based organisation, our work is guided by biblical principles such as justice, compassion, love for one’s neighbour, and responsible stewardship of creation.
We are Christ-centred, believing that sustainable development for individuals and communities is integral to the global Church’s mission. Serving others with humility is at the core of our approach: we promote justice and support people as they strive for a better life, recognising that all are equal.
Our commitment to development encompasses both people and the environment, reflecting the Church’s responsibility to care for creation. We address environmental challenges through sustainable practices and conservation efforts, ensuring that our work benefits both current and future generations.

Fida in Ukraine
Ukraine is facing one of the largest displacement crises of our time. Fida works to support the well-being and future of children affected by the war.
Sustainable Results
Fida’s development work yields significant results. Annually, more than 60 000 children begin attending school, and close to 1 000 small businesses are formed. Civil society is strengthened and peace increases.
