Development Cooperation
We engage in development work in Asia, East Africa, and the Middle East. Annually, we reach over one million people.
Everyone has the right to a good life. We want to help the most vulnerable and ensure that everyone has access to education, livelihood opportunities, and a healthy life.
Fida has engaged in development work for 50 years. In 1974, we first received support for this work from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. Fida is a Finnish development organisation. Today our work is not only supported by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland but also numerous sponsors and donors.
Christian Development Work
As a faith-based organisation, our work is rooted in biblical principles, such as justice, compassion, love for one’s neighbor, and stewardship of creation.
We are Christ-centered and believe that bringing sustainable development to people and communities is part of the mission of the global Church. We focus on serving people with a servant-hearted approach. We promote justice and support people in their pursuit of a better life because all people are equal.
Christian development work focuses not only on people but also on the climate and environment, as caring for creation is also the responsibility of the Church. We address environmental issues, promoting sustainable practices and conservation efforts.

Sustainable Results
Fida’s development work yields significant results. Annually, more than 60 000 children begin attending school, and close to 1 000 small businesses are formed. Civil society is strengthened and peace increases.
