Why should I donate to Fida?

Reduce your impact on Planet Earth

Donating goods and clothes for reuse extends their life cycle and thus reduces the impact on our planet. For example, in 2023, more than 2 million products found a new home through us!

In 2023 Fida Secondhand Shops saved the following resources:

40,499,000 kg of solid natural resources
6,443,000 kg of carbon dioxide emissions

Support charity

When donating clothes and other goods to Fida, you are part of a greater story – the profit from Fida Secondhand Shops goes to Fida International, an organisation working to improve the lives of children and youth globally. In 2023 Fida secondhand’s profit was distributed as follows:

80% to humanitarian aid and development projects
20% supporting Fida’s partner churches.

Create Finnish jobs

When shopping at Fida Secondhand Shops or donating goods to your local second hand store, you create jobs to Finland. Our second hand chain has been awarded the Key Flag Symbol – since the service is produced in Finland and is of domestic ownership.

Fida Secondhand Shops employs over 100 professionals in our stores, in the Sorting and Logistics Centres and shop management. Read more about the corporate responsibility here.

What happens to the donated clothes?

More than 2 million used goods found a new home through Fida Secondhand Shops in 2023. Out of the 1.3 million kilograms of donated clothes, nearly one third was sold in the Fida stores and Fida Outlet in Finland.
