What different payment methods are there at Fida Shops? At Fida Shops you can pay by bank or credit cards (the most common ones), cash or Fida’s own Gift Card.
Am I eligible for a discount? Please read about Fida Shops’ loyalty programme and student discount here. Do Fida Shops have in-store toilets? Unfortunately our Fida Shops do not have in-store toilets for customers. Shopping centres (Iso Omena, Espoontori, Ideapark, Columbus, Redi), on the other hand have customer toilets, so consider visiting the Fida Shops at these shopping outlets.
I am looking for a job placement, in order to learn the Finnish language. Can I apply for a job placement at my local Fida Shop? Yes, please contact your nearest Fida Shop and ask for availability.
How can I donate goods to Fida? You can donate goods to your nearest Fida Shop, to a Collection Box or by ordering Fida’s free pick-up service.
What can I donate to Fida? We happily accept:
– Clothing – Crockery/tableware – Items for interior decoration – Other homeware – Electronics and home appliances (less than 5 years old)

Please only donate items that you would be happy to buy yourself; undamaged, clean, and fit for sale.
What items do you not accept? What about children’s car safety seats? We do not receive children’s car safety seats nor electronic devices that are older than 3 years, due to safety reasons. We do not accept filthy, broken or stinky products. Donated goods need to be unbroken, clean and fit for sale.
Can I sell my products at my local Fida Shop? Fida Secondhand Shops is a chain of charity second hand shops. Fida Shops receive donations that are sold in the stores. The profit is used to fund the global work of Fida International.
Do you send donated goods abroad? We do not send donated goods abroad, the goods are sold in local Fida Shops.
Are the donated items sold in the Fida Shop they were donated to? Our Sorting Centre in Helsinki distributes clothes and accessories to most Fida Shops, but household items and furniture are usually sold in the Fida Shop they were originally donated to.
Do I need to iron the clothes I wish to donate? No need to iron clothes.
Do you receive rags? No unfortunately. End-of-life textiles can be taken to the collection of waste textiles at Sortti-stations (subject to a charge), if you live in the capital region.
What happens to donated clothes, that are not sold in the Fida Shops? We sell the products to select partners inside the European Union. These partners either sell the products themselves or make industrial towels out of the material. Please read more here, if you are interested in our International Sales.

I live in Jyväskylä, do you offer a free pick up service here? Fida’s free pick up service is available in the Helsinki capital region, broader Uusimaa region (Kerava, Järvenpää), Hämeenlinna and Tampere region. If you live in Lahti, please contact your local Fida Shop for more information.
How do I cancel a booked pick up appointment? Please call our customer service tel. +358 50 300 5035. We will call you back as soon as possible (Mon-Sat).
How do I prepare for the pick up? Make sure that you have packed all the individual smaller goods, and that you have wiped clean the furniture you are planning to donate. Note that Fida’s drivers wear safety shoes indoors, please cover necessary areas e.g. in the living room and keep pets in a separate room.
What products are sold at Fida Shops? Fida Shops’ basic selection consists of clothes, shoes, accessories, small household items, furnishings / home textiles and books. Some Fida Shops sell also furniture and hobby equipment.
Do you inspect furniture before they are sold? Our staff inspects the furniture, but we advise our customers to inspect the piece of furniture they wish to buy by themselves. Fida products do not have a return right (exception: electrical devices, see next question).
What return policy does Fida Shops have? We have a seven-day (7) return right only for dysfunctional electrical devices. Please inspect the product you are intending to buy, as we sell used products.
Does Fida wash the clothes that are sold? Fida does not wash clothes before they are sold, the clothes are donations.
What criteria applies to products sold at Fida Shops? We sell clean products, fit for sale. The product selection varies by season, and we have “new” products every week.
How are the products priced? Several factors affect the pricing of the product: product age, brand, material, style and product demand.
Has Fida Shops increased its prices? Due to the general increase of costs, we have slightly increased the prices of our products.
When was Fida Secondhand Shops founded? Fida Secondhand Shops is a domestic chain of charity stores established in 1979. The profit from Fida Shops is used to fund the work of Fida International, read more here.
Who is the owner of Fida Secondhand Shops? Fida Secondhand Shops is part of Fida International. Fida International’s members are the Finnish pentecostal congregations.
Do I have to be a Christian in order to work at Fida Shops? No, but we require our staff to commit to Fida’s values during work hours.

The profit of Fida Shops goes to a good cause, but do you help Finns? Fida Secondhand Shops has received the Key Flag symbol, as a sign for the Finnish origin of the service. Fida Secondhand Shops employs over 100 full time and part time staff members in different tasks.
